Welcome to Cycle 3 of the Rampton Round-Down!

Okay family - Are you ready to start again? Have you eaten yourself into a dither? Tired of fun, celebrating, and eating anything at will? Finished with pulling out the size "biggos" from back in the closet? Let's get going again.

Why don't we start this coming Friday, the 1st. (we thought Friday postings would be better so that if we have heavy eating to do on the weekends, it won't blow our week's weight loss as much.) Our end goal will be the family reunion. First, you need to set a goal for your weight loss and post it with your intention to participate -

Remember, you never need to reveal your weight at any point as we only ask for percentage of weight lost. Even if you only want to lose 5 pounds, please join us - it makes it more fun and motivating for all of us. **If you haven't gone on to post on the blog before, let Alicia know so that she can make it work for you.

We are being very tough this time around. There is a $10 fee to participate this cycle and you must post by the end of the first week or you will be kicked off the challenge and forfeit your participation fee.

Let the Challenge Begin!!

Physical Challenge

Zahra completed the hula-hoop physical challenge for a stunning total of 768 completed loops in 15 minutes.
Michele gave up after 3 complete loops when Richard reminded her that you have to actually go in at the waist in order to keep the hoop up.

Thank you Lacey for pointing out how I cannot do simple math. Well I am not shy about my lacking skills in the mathematical area!

Ok, loss of 1 lb, percentage of 0.6%

Love you all!

Lacey - Week 4

This week I have lost 1 pound, for a percentage of .7 weight loss.

To get the percentage weight loss do this: okay last week i was 141 this week I am 140: 141/140 = 1.007, move the decimal point over to the right twice and it gets you .7. That is how it is done!

3 rd week notes

Well, Guys, I am finally able to post messages on this blog, thanks to Alicia. Thanks, Alicia. After today's weigh in while Iwas driving down 7th east my car made an automatic turn into Banbury Cross donuts (that's what I get for driving around unprepared (PREPARED MUST BE OUR MOTTO, OUR GOAL, WE NEED TO BE OBSESSIVE ABOUT BEING PREPARED). Well I had no tomatoe juice or carrots or apples or nuts, or lunch meat or soft drinks in the car, so of course I was famished. I am telling everyone this story so you will do as I say, not as I do and learn from my devastating experience of downing three cinammon crumbs donuts at one go. I may have chewed a little, but there was sure a lot of quick swallowing. So I tried to eat nothing else today and with a few 200 carloies exceptions I made it.

Here is my tip: herb tea. Have a big mid morning and/or mid afternoon herb tea with splenda.
There are some great flavors. Carry it around with you.

My other tip: drink 2 glasses of water first thing in the morning. Helps fill you up and wake you up.

My other tip: cans of V8 juice in the car.

I spent a lovely Friday night by myself in Walmart. I pushed a cart around and picked out some darling clothes since I need some summer clothes that fit. It took at least an hour. Then I tried them on. it took another 45 minutes. Everyone of them made me look like a walrus, so I didn't get any of them. but it sure was fun shopping and pretending they would fit. And I think it has given me a shred more of motivation.

Kathie

P.S. I just barely bought a hula hoop tonight at Walmart so Kin and I will do last week's physical challenge. She is doing pretty well - excercising tons. She will post her loss on Sunday.

Hey, pound buddy, where were you when I was driving by Banbury Cross?

Congratulations Michele! You are Week #2's Biggest Loser with a percentage weight loss of 1.4 %! (Come on, Round Downers - please post your weight loss each week. Don't worry - we'll love you regardless, but it helps motivate all of us and makes it more fun with everyone participating! I have a feeling this is going to be a great week for all of us!)

This week I have lost .6 pounds, for a percentage of .4% weight loss.

This week I have gained 3 pounds, for a percentage of .97 weight loss (is that right if I gained).

So now I am back to where I started....boooo! This week may not be any better on account of having the Richard's at my house this weekend and forcing me to go to Kimball's!

Who has done the physical challenge? LET'S GO!

Friday, May 9, 2008

If anything I gained weight this week. I had a party everyday, because it was my last week at my current job. I promise to be better next week! I claim to be the smallest loser of the week or the biggest gainer - however you want to call it.

Bad week

It was a bad week for me. Got in the excercise, just ate too much and too much of the bad stuff Loss of .4 pounds. I guess a loss is a loss.

A better way

Hi Friends, If you haven't figured it out already, there's an easier way to figure out your percentage weight loss. I just went over it with my Mom, and now she gets it. She isn't doing advanced percentage calculations to figure out her kids grades. Just take your total weight loss for the week, and divide it by you weight at the beginning of the week. This will give you a decimal figure. You move the decimal point over two places to the right, and that is your percentage weight loss! (I'm studying for the GRE). I'll be joining this week!
